Alberta
Alberta is where I spent most of my childhood. Lucky me! Although Alberta is a landlocked province in Canada, it has over 600 lakes and is home to the world’s largest beaver dam visible from space. Alberta is also home to 6 UNESCO world heritage sites, including the Rocky Mountains and Dinosaur Provinicial Park. The major cities in Alberta are Calgary and Edmonton, and this province is the largest rat-free inhabited land area in the world.

Prarie winters are cold and snowy, summers are typically hot and dry. There is plenty of snow and cold temps from October to March.
Be prepared when travelling in the mountains, the roads can be sketchy in the winter. There is no cell service along routes through Mountain Passes (like from Vancouver to the Canadian Rockies)

My experience in Alberta
I was born and raised in Alberta, and completed my education and professional training in Alberta. As a child, I camped and explored the forests and Canadian Rockies.
The landscapes of Alberta are very diverse, the Rocky Mountains run North-South all through Alberta (Banff National Park, Waterton National Park, and all the way North to the border with the Arctic). There are badlands, lakes, rivers, prairies, foothills, mountains. Alberta is a beautiful place to explore.
